Integrity

Let us talk for a minute about integrity as a soap maker, and candle maker or a cosmetics maker. What does it mean to have integrity? What are some examples?

The person with integrity studies copyright/patent/trademark laws and determines what is legal before taking the writing, ideas, photos and so on, of others. Yes, you might make a mistake now and again, but you make every effort to be above board in your use of the work of others.

The person with integrity, even when following fair use practices, acknowledges the hard work of others. They credit authors, teachers, artists and so on, for their influence in the artisan product or copy they themselves produce.  They also make the effort to be original.

When all is said and done, what makes a lasting impression is our integrity. How do you measure up?
